A Most Unusual Season for PSG

French side Paris Saint-Germain are in the midst of one of the strangest seasons in recent memory. Having already captured the French League Cup and in the semifinals of the French Cup, PSG are looking for the third cup double in team history. What makes this truly unusual is that they could also be relegated for the first time in team history.

With three games to go, PSG currently sit in 18th in Ligue 1, level on points with the two teams directly ahead of them, Toulouse and Lens, but trailing Toulouse by three and Lens by one on the goal differential tiebreaker. Two of the Parisans final three league games are on the road, including a pivotal match Saturday at Toulouse.

Incredibly, PSG have won has many cup games this year (nine) as they have league games. It will be interesting to see how they approach the stretch; they're probably willing to sacrifice the Cup run at the expense of avoiding relegation. Stay tuned.
